Grants Awarded in 2025
There were many worthy organizations which received grants from the Kyle Foundation in 2025 for projects to be completed in 2026. These included Camp Adam Fisher, Waymaker Off-Road Wheelchairs, Cape Fear Regional Theatre, Foster Care Clothing Closet, Florence Little Theatre, Connie Maxwell Children’s Home, Taste of Briggs, Central Methodist Church, Mercy Medicine, Palmetto Partnership – All for Autism, Christ Episcopal Church, and Methodist University.
The projects were diverse and all were worthy. There were many unique and varied projects and grant money assisted with some of the following:
- Helped outfit a gathering place for Veteran students at Methodist University;
- Sponsored a summer workshop for children at Florence Little Theatre;
- Purchased banners and upgrades for the chapel at Central Methodist Church;
- Helped improve a permanent business location for Palmetto Partnership – All for Autism;
- Contributed towards a camp for youth with juvenile diabetes;
- Purchased a wheelchair which navigates access over sand at the beach;
- Completed a pledge for major upgrades at the Cape Fear Regional Theatre;
- Assisted with the operating budget for Mercy Medicine and Foster Care Clothing;
- Gave funds to make upgrades to the Florence location of Connie Maxwell;
- Made a donation to Briggs School for its annual fund raiser, Taste of Briggs;
- Assisted with upgrades at Christ Episcopal Church.
Although funds are available for general support, the Board looks to make its greatest impact by funding particular needs. For example, Waymaker seemed a very worthy project because it loans off road wheelchairs to individuals who have mobility issues. These chairs are not the norm for a normal wheelchair but are designed to navigate uneven terrain and are also available at state parks and beaches.
How about a summer camp for children with Type 1 Diabetes with a safe environment? The list is long and the Board was blessed to be able to assist with so many projects.
The Kyle Foundation considers all grant requests and looks to award funding for those projects which have the largest impact for many people. Grants are made at the Board’s annual meeting in October each year and each grant request is prayerfully considered.

A New Resource for Supporting Our Community
The Kyle Foundation is pleased to announce the launch of its new website, created to provide a clear and accessible resource for organizations seeking information about the Foundation and its grantmaking process.
For many years, the Foundation has operated quietly, supporting nonprofit organizations that strengthen communities through education, human services, and philanthropic initiatives. This new website is intended to make it easier for organizations to learn about the Foundation’s purpose, areas of focus, and application requirements.
The site includes information about the Foundation’s history, its geographic priorities in the Cape Fear region of North Carolina and the Pee Dee region of South Carolina, and guidance for organizations interested in applying for funding. A downloadable grant application is also available, along with instructions for submission.
While the Foundation’s approach to grantmaking remains unchanged, the website provides a more direct way for organizations to access information and understand the application process.
